Correct the public record when meaning changes.
P4L welcomes specific, source-supported correction requests. Material errors are corrected on the affected artifact and dated when the change alters a factual conclusion, evidence boundary, program status, attribution, or reasonable interpretation.
How P4L handles it
- Preserve the request and cited source.
- Recheck the original record and current status.
- Assess whether the change is material.
- Correct the affected artifact and its metadata when warranted.
- Add a dated correction note that explains the substantive change.
Materiality
A correction is material when it changes the net meaning of a health, scientific, program, regulatory, policy, institutional, financial, biographical, or adoption claim; changes a conclusion or recommendation; resolves a misleading omission; or corrects attribution, sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement.
Minor changes
Spelling, punctuation, formatting, accessibility repairs, and link maintenance may be corrected without a public correction entry when they do not alter substance. A source-refresh date may change without a correction if the underlying meaning remains the same.
Response and disagreement
P4L does not promise a fixed response time. Urgent medical, legal, safety, or regulatory matters should go to the appropriate qualified authority. A submitted request does not require P4L to accept the proposed wording; unresolved disagreements may be acknowledged when they materially affect interpretation.
Public correction record
No site-wide material correction is recorded at launch. Material corrections made after publication will be dated and reflected on the affected page when they change meaning.
